Challenges of sustainable development goal 3
Abstract
This systematic review analyzes the progress and challenges in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3
in developing countries, focusing on sexual and reproductive health and demographic trends. The study
examines diverse reports and data to show progress in access to reproductive health services, fertility
rates reduction, and maternal health. However, there are persistent obstacles such as gaps in health
care infrastructure, economic inequalities, and cultural barriers. The analysis emphasizes the correlation
between the level of development and the progress towards the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable
Development Goals, with a focus on several African countries. The article underlines the importance of
boosting current efforts and traces areas that require improvement for full achievement of the Sustainable
Development Goal 3 targets.
