Abstract

The late 1980s was marked by a succession
of political and social events in the country,
which motivated the Federal Council of Medicine
(CFM) to face challenges by committing, initially,
to design a new Code of Medical Ethics 1, with the
inclusion of chapters that address the clamor
of society—such as “Chapter VI: Donation and
transplantation of organs and tissues” and
“Chapter XII: Medical research”—with the
collaboration of federative entities.
